12u Coach

Ali is in her first season coaching with Platform and her second year coaching club volleyball. Last season she was the head coach of North Scott’s 15u team.

Ali graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 2011 where she played volleyball (four years) and ran track (2 years). During her time in high school, the Mustangs earned two state volleyball runner up titles and two state championship titles her junior and senior seasons. She earned All-state first team honors in 2008, 2009, and 2010. In 2010, Ali was named Iowa Gatorade Player of the year. Ali played club volleyball for the Iowa Rockets where her team became the first Iowa team to win the USAV National Championship and qualify for the USAV National Championship Open Division.

Ali went on to play Big Ten volleyball at the University of Illinois, graduating in 2015. In her redshirt freshman season, the Fighting Illini were National Champion Runner-ups. Ali was a pivotal six rotation player, seeing significant time in the back row. Ali also received Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Ali is a 2017 Iowa High School Girls’ Volleyball Hall of Fame Inductee.
