Melissa is in her 14th year as club director for Platform Elite. Melissa has coached numerous teams in her tenure at Platform. In 2009, her 16u team placed fifth at JVA National Championships in Louisville, KY and ninth at the USAV Show Me Qualifier in Kansas City, MO. In 2007, her 16u team placed fourth at the Iowa Regional tournament and ninth place at the Northern Lights National Qualifier in Minneapolis, MN. Melissa has received three awards from the Iowa Volleyball Region in recent years, Meritorious Service Award in 2016, Junior Outstanding Leader for 2012, and Outstanding Program Director in 2008.

For five years prior to starting Platform Elite, Melissa was club director and team coach for Moline Juniors Volleyball Club. Melissa was club director and team coach for Mississippi Valley Volleyball Club from 1999 to 2001. She also coached for Ilowa Volleyball Club from 1996 to 1999, with one team qualifying for Nationals. Melissa also coached for Davenport Juniors 1994 to 1996.

Melissa was the assistant women’s volleyball coach at Augustana College in 2004. In 1998 Melissa served as the assistant women’s volleyball coach for St. Ambrose University and assistant men’s volleyball coach for Marycrest International University.

Melissa played four years of varsity volleyball at St. Ambrose University where she graduated from with a degree in sports management. She graduated from and played volleyball at Davenport North High School where her team was state runners-up her senior year.

Melissa currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Iowa Volleyball Region.  She is an IMPACT and BCAP (Beach Coaching Accreditation Program) certified coach and is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
